Life in Sunny Dubai

Al Fresco Dining

I'm sorry there is no red, white and blue in this picture, in fact, unlike in other parts of the world nothing is happening here. I have never seen pictures on TV as what happened today... world leaders with arms linked marching together with ordinary people behind them. INCREDIBLE. I hope this is the start of a real shift in the right direction.

So, today, on a very spur of the moment decision, we ended up having dinner at Carluccio's Dubai Mall. 1. to see the dazzling new lights on the Burj Khalifa* which is just on the right of this picture, and 2. to inaugurate the new Entertainer book which arrived this morning.

The place had a nice buzz about it but wasn't too packed. The temperature was perfect and Carluccio's food was as good as ever. We popped into Eataly, Nespresso and Galeries Lafayette too. Week nights are the best time to browse. It's one of the best things about being a grown-up! :D

* I was told when I got back that the NYE fireworks at Burj Khalifa were really something and on Friday whilst driving back from the East Coast, we saw some of the new lighting they have installed on the building... so posting a link here for you to see the show.
