Film festival prep

The annual Schull short film festival will be launched on Thursday. The decorations are going up and most of the high street is included, they put relevant famous film names over their signage for the 4days. Through out the village a continuous loop of hundreds of excellent short films are broadcast on Wifi for anyone to view. The village comes alive with visitors and locals moving from coffee house, to pub, library to village hall, bus to tent, horror horse box to bookshop, green recycle cinema (powered by 2 bicycles) to school, playground to carpark. It's fantastic and free (a lot of coffee and drink and food obviously incidentally gets bought and consumed along the way).
There are normal feature length films which you need to pay for and there is also the chance to meet and attend a master class with film directors, this year Mike Leigh and Jack Gold will be visiting.
It's amazingly good, very stimulating, very sociable and extremely thought provoking. We are so lucky to have this on our door step. Come if you can!
