Night lights
Seductive invite
A sultry rewrite
Of daytimes polite
Sound bites and sound bytes
Stage fright under
Corporate bright lights
Upright and uptight
Where all is quite right
Or at least alright.

But dusk falls in spite
And night passions ignite
As darkness excites
A new type of indite
Lit by brake lights
And smoldering street lights
Alight. And so might
The midnight delights
Incite each play write
To write and recite
Their own fancies flight
In imagined spotlights bight.
Till dawn lights insight
Makes trite and contrite
And each night hour sprite
Bid the wayward night
Goodnight.


Out late last night and took this in the early hours traveling home. A fabulous evening, fine company, fine wine, and some of the best, inspired spoken word wordsmith wizardry I've ever heard.
