Saturday 19 May 2012: Cooked on the peat fire
This morning I was at Auchindrain , the open air museum and unique pre-clearance village in Mid-Argyll , where there was a local traditional food event.
In one of the cottages Sheena Mac Alister from the Campbeltown Heritage Centre was cooking over an open peat fire. These are her girdle scones, with the smoke curling over them as they cooked.
A delicious combination of smells.
