Saturday 19 May 2012: Goodnight, Mickey Mouse!

I actually have several adorable pics of Larkyn and another baby from today, which would probably be more blipworthy, but I couldn't resist blipping the first photo I took this morning . . .

Last night, Larkyn went into the spare bedroom (her new favorite playplace) and started carrying her new favorite friend, Mickey Mouse the telephone, to her room. She wanted him to sleep with her, but I told her that Mickey needed to sleep in the spare bedroom. So, as I tidied a few things in her room, she took him back. I heard her telling him, "Goodnight, Mickey Mouse!" but I didn't notice until this morning that she had kindly laid him down on a pillow to sleep. When I saw this first thing today, I had to take a photo to remember this.

When I went to get her out of bed this morning, I told her that she had been very nice to put Mickey to bed last night and she said that she had also kissed him goodnight and told him "sweet dreams." As soon as she left her room, she went to him, stood him upright, placed the phone back in his hand where it belongs and said, "Good Morning, Mickey Mouse!"

I grew up with this phone in our house. I love it that she loves it so much. Perhaps I should plug it in someday . . . :-)
