Isfahan

We have always had at least one rug hanging on a wall in our home over the past 30 years. This one is a typical Isfahan rug from Persia (as I prefer to call Iran). The intricate pattern can only be achieved by using very fine wool and also some silk. Blue is often chosen for these particular rugs but red predominates in other rug producing regions. Each strand of wool/silk is woven and tied individually by hand.
We are very attached to it.
