Bumps in the Road

We are family

1000 thousand blips. One thousand photos. Wow. Where did all the time go? When I started this journal I never expected to keep it going this long. Don't get me wrong, my intentions were always good but I never thought I'd have the staying power to last a thousand days. Thanks for everyone's support - there's no way I would have made it without the encouragement of Nikki and the wonderful blip community.

A lot has happened in the past thousand days. There was the news of our impending children (code named Jiggy and Pixel) and, of course, their births (Ernie and Fenella). We also hit the one and two year blipiversaries along the way. We look forward to many more (anniversaries not children!)

The wee lass continues to do well outside the womb although she's permanently attached to her mum at the moment.

For the most part, the wee man has adapted well to his sister's arrival, talking about her, singing to her and patting her head. Today, however, he's been doing a few things he knows he's not supposed to: tearing books, pushing furniture, picking up coffee cups and poking his sister. Maybe it's because he's sick, maybe he's looking for extra attention or more likely it's a combination of the two.

Hopefully, any sibling jealousy quickly fades and the next 1000 blips will capture the growing bond between the two.

Thanks again for being a part of our blip family!  Here are a few of our key blips from the past:
First pregnancy
Ernie's birth

Second pregnancy
Fenella's birth

1 year blip
2 year blip
