Saturday 19 May 2012: St Francis of Assisi.

A very eye catching statue of St Francis of Assisi at the Bridgewater Farm Supply store. I love how the animals are climbing up. Quite an imposing statue which would need a large garden.
St Francis is known as the patron saint of animals and the environment. It is customary for Catholic and Anglican churches to hold ceremonies blessing animals on his feast day of 4 October. The story of St Francis is fascinating.
