an itching in my thumbs

cow lady

today was one of those saturday's that just sticks out in the best way possible.

slept in (for me). up at 8a. walked to BRIT to help out at prairie day. a great day there all around. you know what? i just love that place. not something i can say very often. steppenwolf was like that.

lots of people in and out all day, including leah, who brought brian's parents who are visiting from denver! it was so great to be able to show them around and share what i love about the place. and i guess how i feel about showed - judy couldn't help remarking on it.

good talks with erin as we cleaned up at the end. joking around with julie. i took a lot of onions home (good thing erin gave me a ride. that would've been a weird walk). need to make those tarts, actually - asparagus, gruyere, and caramelized onion...

a perfect hour in between BRIT and further festivities. home at 3p, cracked open a rudy redbird, read a few pages of the new yorker. dressed it up a little (not much, really) and was in the car with leah and the carrolls at 4p.

brian's show at artsgoggle was a blast. by the end of the day i was toast, though. but not too tired to catch some late night dinner at cafe brazil.

i cannot thank leah and brian enough for being the best of friends. brian said it perfectly at cafe brazil - "we hate all the same people for all the same reasons." or something to that affect. i do agree, it is always a pleasure to look over at either one of you and know we are sharing the same thought. you guys are the best.

this saturday was a perfect reminder of that, too.
