First Attempt ....

... at underwater photography; it would help if the fish or I , or preferably both of us, would keep still. Hopefully, with some more practice, I'll be able to do justice to the array of colour and marine life we're seeing.

Reality forced it's way into paradise this afternoon when our daughter, Kate, skyped us to let us know that Tess's Mum has had a fall while we've been away.

At first the doctor thoughtshe had just pulled a muscle and, typically, Tess's Mum refused point blank to let Kate tell us. However, further investigation has revealed a hairline fracture in her pelvis and she's been taken into hospital so Kate sensibly felt she had to let us know.

Fortunately, like her Nan, Kate is highly resourceful and organised and has already arranged 24 hour home care for her Grandad, who has dementia, organised supplies of food for him, liaised with their neighbours, doctor and the hospital, as well as making regular 50 mile round trips to visit both of them. All this as well as coping with a 6 week old daughter as a first time mother!

We are very lucky to have a such a lovely daughter .

Ther's no way we could get back any earlier than Sunday, as planned, and Kate has everything under control and given us strict instructions to enjoy the next few days so that's what we'll try to do.
