Sunday shutdown

So it seems that this place shuts down on Sundays. Meaning our jaunt down the street was met with surprisingly few folk and surprisingly many shutters on shop fronts.

Let's have a quick recap:
Thursday: Shut (public holiday)
Friday: Shut (bank holiday)
Saturday: Lockdown (Zinneke Parade)
Sunday: Shut (apparently as usual)

Still, we've got tomorrow morning before we leave.

Of course we still managed to see some sights and visit some places of interest, let's not get too down on it - it just seems we hit a perfect storm of a bad not-optimal weekend to visit.

We wandered round the former Waucquez Warehouse, a 1906 Art Nouveau building by the grand master Victor Horta. It's better known now as the Belgian Comic Strip Centre, and besides Tintin, Asterix, and some Smurfs, we bumped into Porco Rosso and even saw Sarkozix.

But then the only reason we go on holiday is so we get a good story.
