Sunday 20 May 2012: It's Not Quite A Dog Day

Didn't spend much time taking photos as catching up with my brother and sister in law. It was a great weekend seeing them.

Stayed at the Waldorf where the doorman whistles for taxis for you and nothing is too much trouble. They had some superb old black and white photos in the main areas of the hotel and the location was round the corner from Covent Garden. This is where the dog was lying in his basket. Covent Garden is full of street entertainers.

Went up to Soho and Carnaby Street, Liberty where they have individual designers work in store as well as the high end goods. Also took a look at the Lomography shop. I do really like old film.

Took afternoon tea, complete with cucumber sandwiches in the Waldorf where they warm the scones for you. There is a wide choice of teas but they didn't have the timers I'm now seeing in tea shops that sell the wider ranges, like the Russian tea shop that has opened in my home town. Different types of teas need differing infusion times to get the best flavour. All very civilised before hoping on the train back home.

A wonderful weekend. Thank you Chaos and Michelle. See you in Sydney x
