Grafting

This afternoon we went to try grafting fruit tree tops to root stock bottoms. It is dead easy to do in theory but a lot hard than you think to make it happen. This badly exposed* blip is one of them hybrids taped up in a pot in our garden where it will stay for a year until a community orchard can be found to receive it (assuming it survives).

* For some reason my camera had managed to get it's self set on -3 EV which makes for challenging picture taking. It's all set correctly now...

Cold is neither here nor there - I've still got a sore throat and a bit of a headache but not a full blown cold.

After the grafting I went to help a friend who had migrated his PC from one hard disk to a larger one and wanted to make it boot again. As it's Linux and not Windows it's fairly straight forward to do and just took one simple command and a couple of reboots. The only fun we had is trying and failing to figure out why the BIOS spends about a minute during the boot apparently doing nothing...
