Sunday 20 May 2012: Solar Eclipse
So you ask, "Where's the eclipse?" Well, sorry - we completely missed it. This evening, when the eclipse was to have taken place, we were enjoying a nice time together with family at the home of my brother and sister-in-law. We had contemplated running out to a better viewing location for it, but it was more fun to watch Larkyn eat her very first ever ice cream sandwich (or, "ice cream cookie," as she called it). We didn't have the proper viewing glasses for it, anyway, so it really would have been a waste.
So, there you have it. Sorry. Albuquerque was supposed to be one of the best locations in the world to view the "ring of fire" eclipse, but we missed it. My husband and I saw a solar eclipse in 1999 in Amiens, France and thoroughly enjoyed it.
I guess my priorities have changed a bit. :-)
