Monday 21 May 2012: A view worth getting up for
This is what you see from the living/ dining area at Tom and Sue's cabin. Absolutely spectacular.
Across the valley you see the Purcell range of mountains (considered separate from the Rockies which lie behind us here). Kicking Horse ski resort is in the distance to the right.
At the bottom of the valley lies the lazy (until July when it become a torrent) Columbia river. At this point it is flowing slightly North but turns West then South about 60 miles from here on its course down to Portland, Oregon then the Pacific.
A fantastic weekend all round.
