Tides out

We went for a walk at Chanonry Point as the sun was setting. The sky was striped with different shades of pinks and white. The tide was a long way out  and as we walked along the edge of the water I picked up several brightly coloured pieces of sea glass and some patterned pottery.
One seal was bobbing around wondering what we were doing and there were  a few fisherman with their rods waiting for a bite.
Over at Rosemarkie there was a whole raft of gulls following the fresh water out to sea. The oyster catchers were resting on the rocks and the rooks and crows took off causing the sky to turn black and the air was filled with their noisy cries.
Further along the shore we watched a gull tackling something quite big, pulling it in and out of the water and having to protect it's meal from two hungry crows. When we got closer we could see that it looked like cuttle fish and the black ink was flowing into the water.
One golden eye male was further out but no small birds today.
