A pair of kestrels

A fabulous morning at Mountsorrel Meadows, 26 species of bird. Not only that, but the promised sunshine shone all morning (unlike last weekend) and it was pleasantly warm. This pair of kestrels was “owning” the reserve, but the singing skylark was my bird of the day (even though I didn’t manage to snap it). This is a composite image from two separate shots – female upper, male lower.
