The Western Ghats

We went on a beautiful trek today. The western ghats are very high and verdant. Bird song is all around you and there are areas of tea plantation, granite outcrops, and tropical forest. They are known as the misty mountains as they are often in mist but are clearer first thing in the morning.

We saw several monkeys in trees but fortunately not the wild elephant that is around the area.
