Steaming Sandhills

It was a glorious fine and frosty morning as I drove to Christchurch for my physiotherapy appointment. As the sun rose higher it warmed the grassy sandhills down the Old West Coast Road, turning the frost to steam. Because of the traffic and the state of the roadside stopping was difficult, but I managed this shot. Later in Christchurch it was so warm that I had to take off my hat and coat.

I'm obviously looking very old now. At one shop I spent enough to qualify for a voucher to be in the draw to win a prize. The woman who served me looked at me kindly and said, "You have to go online to fill in your details, dear. Get a young person to do it for you."
