Sandstorm

A bit more humid today, however with the hot air the heat index was 63 C (146F). Out on site the sandstorm started (not up to Mission Impossible standards) together with the moist air wasn't a pleasant experience.

As I walked on site, I noticed the sand from the trench has a high number of sea shells. This layer is only 2m thick, and below this is about 10m of sea water saturated sand, on top of very compressed sand/rock.

The orange sand is sweet sand and this comes from the proper desert around 30km from the coast.
