Summer daze

It's getting towards the tail end of summer - still hot, and the garden is tired and crying out for a drink of real water from the sky.

There really isn't much around; most of the summer flowers are over, and the oak tree is groaning with acorns - I don't think I've ever seen so many.  They all need raking up and disposing of, otherwise I'll have a baby oak forest in my front lawn before I know it.

The bees are frantic, trying to get pollen from the few flowers that are left.  At least this oregano is only just coming into flower so there is some fresh pollen there.
