I don't know what's going on with the neighbourhood corvids. These two definitely seem to have constructed a nest in the birch tree (after much haranguing of the magpies and stealing of twigs), but they don't spend much time in it. Nobody seems to be sitting on eggs in a traditional style-ee. They spend a lot of time hanging about the place and conversing (very characteristic Leith behaviour, come to think of it) - and just as dusk was falling they decided to head for the highest chimney pots and do a bit of canoodling.
