The 'postie on the bike' may soon be a relic from a bygone age.
NZPost predicts a drop in mail volume of 5% a year, but in the six months to the end of 2011, the decline had steepened to 7%. A shift to deliveries every second day could be a possibility in the next two or three years. Digital technology is replacing hard copy, fast.
But the postie was on the job today, all delivered!
