La Foule (Raymond Mason)

This statue, done in 1967, has been in the Tuileries since 2000.

We spent the morning at the Pinacothèque where we saw a show of Modigliani, Soutine and other Montparnasse artists (collection of Jonas Netter). We really enjoyed it! When my mom met her friend for lunch earlier this week in the 15th arr she told her about the artists' studios La Ruche very near by and how, when there was still an abattoir where the parc Georges Brassens is now, Soutine used to buy slabs of meat to paint there. One day the tenants living below him were concerned when blood started to drip through the ceiling... but it was just Soutine working on something like this.

We are off to Strasbourg early tomorrow for the long week-end. Bon week-end à tous!
