I Am A Camera

Today has been busy with preparations for our trip to Berlin next week: buying some euros, booking taxi for journey to the airport, planning what to see...
So all this made my thoughts turn to Christopher Isherwood's brilliant novel, Goodbye To Berlin, and its opening sentence:
“I am a camera with its shutter open, quite passive, recording, not thinking. Recording the man shaving at the window opposite and the woman in the kimono washing her hair. Some day, all this will have to be developed, carefully printed, fixed.”
Must remember to take a spare battery...
