5.1..

..surround sound from the new blu-ray player, and it rocks.. Ordinary DVD's are automatically processed to give a better picture, and the sound is pretty good too. I don't have any blu ray discs (yet) but am intrigued to see the difference between these and ordinary DVD..

Spent the afternoon setting this up, after taking R&A to KLB for chicken feed this morning. Got a call from R last night asking if I could take him up as his helper has had an accident in her car. It was just to get chicken feed, but when I went to pick him up - could I take A for a ride too? Then they had to do some shopping, and go to the bank, and I was short on time as G wanted the car. What was going to be a helping hand for him turned out to be an inconvenience..

Some lowlife scum hacked my mother-in-laws computer today. You know, the "we're from Windows and can fix your problems for you, just let us take control of your PC for a while" calls.. And she said they sounded so genuine.

Bless her, she's 91, registered blind and profoundly deaf.

As soon as we found out, 5-6 hours later, it was get a neighbour straight away, and call the bank to cancel credit cards, and make them aware of the problem in case any unusual spending occurs. Now to sort out the computer. We've told her not to use it, until our son, or ourselves can get down to have a look at it. After chatting with our son, decided it's probably best to get her a new computer with large touchscreen that will be easier for her to use..

So a warning to everyone. Nobody genuine is going to phone you out of the blue to fix your computer. No-one is going to give you a £250 gift voucher (especially Tesco's), you do not have a rich beneficiary that's left you a fortune, and the Taxman is not going to give you a £672.64 refund on your taxes.

I hope they sleep well tonight..

Rant over, normal service will be resumed tomorrow!..
