Fiddlehead season!

We have a friend who sells fiddleheads
so we purchased a couple of lbs....boy are they fresh and delicious!

Today was a busy one...i'm feeling pretty tired and so ready for dinner, glass of wine and a movie!

I'm into the start of a week of glazing and firing schedule which is pretty tight, in other words, i don't have too many choices - the first glaze kiln has to go on tomorrow!!! the bisque is firing away right now and so that means that i'll have a very hot kiln to unload tomorrow, before i can reload it with the work that is glazed! just a long day on my feet, organizing and figuring it all out!

but i'm being kept company with an interesting book on CD. The Paris Wife is the fictional (altho based on facts) account of Hadley Robertson, Ernest Hemingway's first wife. It is so intriguing, what a self absorbed bunch they were...those writers of that time, in Paris....all the drinking and drama of it all. But the main subject is Hadley...who i think is a pretty amazing woman.....and her relationship with the rather arrogant and totally self absorbed, Hemingway! I have to admit, i haven't read any of his work....and not sure i really want to now...he was such a bastard in many ways! I mean, who in their right mind expects their wife to go along with having their mistress live with them....actually get into bed with them at one point (the mistress thinks the wife is asleep!!) i mean give me a break! I'd love to see how many men would fair if the reverse was the case!! not well i'm sure! Luckily not all men are in this category...and i can certainly feel a rant coming on...but i will refrain. It was a different time and emotional climate!!! anyhow, i'm almost at the end of the story. I actually googled her to make sure she ended up having a better life and relationship after the end of her marriage to him! and she did....yeah!!

almost dinner time....fish, fiddleheads and potatoes....mmmmm.....and then a movie!

good evening from Cape Breton Island!
