proprieting

Several instances of boundary-testing, but many more ahh-look-at-the-wee-person-developing moments today. The wingpiglet was out of the house at normal time today to go and get his hair cut but thankfully returned with almost all of it still in place, losing only a bit around the eyes and down the back. There is still sufficient to augment his hat in shielding him from the sun but the occasional repeated failure to keep the hat on meant he got the odd bit of direct sunlight every now and then. Whilst I was applying wood preservative to the bits of his shed beyond his reach he was applying water to the bits lower-down, after being fobbed off with a brush and an empty take-away container a couple of times. Pleasingly, the water was just rolling off the bits which had already been treated. In the afternoon I popped to buy a bicycle cheap from a man who is fleeing to New Zealand to act as a secondary spare/visiting grandparent loaner/development opportunity, which is far more immediately usable than the one I picked up for five pounds more last year and which has had about twice what was paid for it spent on it to bring it up to standard. New brake blocks, a chainring or two and perhaps some reachier bars should be all that are needed for this one; I compared the positions of the contact points of the two spare and though today's acquisition's seat is only a centimetre further forward and lower down and the handlebars only a couple of inches lower the difference in feel is remarkable.
