Nationally significant

Today I was in Otley and so I took the opportunity to search for dereliction.   I found the remains of the Ashfield foundry above.  It was here that the Wharfedale Press was invented, a significant development in the printing industry in the 19th century and a major contributing factor to Otley's  national importance as a centre of printing press manufacture  at that time and into the next century!
