Fifty Fifty L

Disappointing but not unexpected football on the telly this afternoon. Having earlier sold them our two best players Dundee United lost the League Cup Final to Celtic. In the end it was pretty one-sided but it was only 0-1 at half-time, and they scored when United's captain was off the pitch getting treatment leaving the team a player short. And then Celtic's captain looked to have given away a penalty at the other end, except the referee and linesman failed to see it. Getting penalties isn't the same as scoring them (as Celtic failed to score with one later), but it would have been a decent chance. Sadly the United captain got sent off for a lunging tackle - fair do's, even if it looked to be one of those situations we've all been in when we lose control of the ball in one challenge and go into the next one badly with studs up in an effort to retrieve the situation. Playing with ten men it was never really going to happen so another final, another defeat. At least I didn't waste the day by going through for another day of Glasgow football disappointment.
