Always inconstant...

A Perfect day.

We were both up relatively early for a Sunday, a lot of fun to be had with the Inlaws!

First a good hard and fast, hot as well, 30mile ride with the Brother inlaw. He has only really just gotten into road cycling but is ex military and is a hard devil, so he just gives it his best. The heat of the day built as we pounded the pedals and with the stiff face wind, it turned out to be a killer ride for him. When we got back to his house all his family had a good laugh..bright red and panting he took it well and many jokes about Uncle Pete 'BRAKING' Dad followed.

We then packed up the cars with the canoes and picnics....down to the river and Houghton Mill (a NT site of a watermill, it still grinds flower for local bakers) where we had our lunch and mucked about in the water. The River was still and glassy, cool against your skin, filled with wildlife and once away from the main mill site...very tranquil. After a swim and me taking various folks out for a paddle around the nature IslandI I had time for a little solo canoeing.
Dragon fly's and Damsen hovered close over the water, giving a sense of magic to my solitary river. Gently I drifted along, listening to the buzz of life. The mirrored water creating beautiful symmetry, it was just heaven.

The afternoon whizzed by and we were soon all sitting having a BBQ back at the house, we played games and chatted in the late evening sun, love and deep friendship all around.

A perfect day....for all the right reasons....."ain't Life just Grand"!
