Sunday 27 May 2012: Anise Swallowtail Larva
Spotted this on the neighbor's fennel plant. I'm sure to have more shots of this wonderful creature as the days go on. I think maybe I've said this once or twice before: I love watching caterpillars! Their whole transformation is such an incredible miracle--everything gets rearranged and becomes an entirely different being, and yet hints of what's to come are right there in plain view. It is my camera that opened this world to me, as well as the challenge of posting a photo every day--having to go out there and look taught me something about seeing.
