A Welcome Addition

This is the interior of our very own Quartermile bookshop, ' Looking Glass Books', which opened this morning.

It's a little jewel of a shop where the black and white striped tile floor and black bookcases, contrast with the bright coloured light shades and funky tables and chairs.

We have watched it come together and applaud the owner and her husband for their brave gamble in opening in a recession, and their artistic gift in the design department.
Apart from the comprehensive selection of books on offer, there is the ability to sit with a coffee and sample the cakes. What more could a Lord and Lady want?

Story telling mornings for toddlers and a book group are planned.
Three cheers for a splendid addition to the neighbourhood.

Another day of blue skies was punctuated by a cheery birthday lunch at a local hostelry with three friends and a late sit-ootery with two cycling friends who popped by; an action packed day in the sun, but now with the haar blowing in, we may have seen the beginning of the end of the heatwave.
