Goldfinch lying quietly in my hand

Found a goldfinch in one of my flower tubs on the terrace this morning.  It looked very stunned and I wondered if it was concussed from flying into a window or something.  Put it into a nut feeder with an egg cup of water and within an hour it had revived sufficiently to fly away.  I don't know if it was one of the 9 that returned again and again about lunchtime because I didn't tag it.  Hopefully it was among their number..
