Magic Weekend- Day 2

Another backblip as we got back at about 10.45pm.
This was our 5th Magic Weekend and probably the best. The weather certainly helped as last year it was in Feb and the year before on a chilly May weekend in Edinburgh. But also it was well organised, the Etihad stadium is well laid out with good space for the fan zones (and the 'Stobart fest' which I'll come back to), it's a good stadium for atmosphere, our hotel was cheap and close to the stadium and most of the games were exciting and some very close.
This is the start of the Broncos v Catalans game before it all went downhill for the Broncos. Again.

We watched all of 2 and half of 2 games today. There was only about 10 mins between games as they had to fit 4 games in which means missing bits to go and do other stuff but 6 hours of rugby might have been a bit much for most of us anyway!

The Super League is sponsored by Eddie Stobart and they've turned 100 of their lorries into Super League lorries with players from the 14 teams on the sides and back. 1 lorry of each team was there and so we went to see them. It turned out to be a Stobart Fest with lots of other lorries therre too and some of the drivers from the Channel 5 tv show. It was a very surreal experience. There were huge queues of people who were just there for the lorries and not the rugby queuing to get a photo taken and autograph of the drivers! Why would you stand in 26C blazing hot sunshine queuing for hours (there was about 8 queues for 8 drivers I think) just to get the autograph of a lorry driver?!

Anyway, it was a good weekend with lots of rugby, sunshine, a good catch up with family and a nice 5 mile run to Old Trafford and back early on Sunday morning. And the boys didn't stir when we got home and put them to bed.
