Apartment 83

The first "inside" look at a new project -- telling the story of each of the residents in this East Village building. Recent sale of the building = possible threat of displacement for many. 

I started with photos from the roof which may now be closed to visitors. Next will be (hopefully) stories from the "mom & pop" shops on the street level who have lost their lease (rents are skyrocketing) 

The dark side of gentrification....

This place also just happens to be in a building of the same type as the ones that were destroyed in the tragic gas explosion this week. And It is only two blocks away!
