Second attempt!!

We were transferred to an airport hotel in Sydney last night after it was decided that the aircraft was unserviceable. A most enjoyable meal, before an early night, ready for return to the airport at 7am.

We have had a very comfortable 10 hr flight and are now sitting at Hong Kong Airport waiting for our flight to Heathrow. We have been given an airport hotel voucher, but as there is only 5hrs to wait we are not going anywhere!!

Our next flight is with British Airways, as I assume the Cathay Pacific flight this evening is full. Our boarding passes say “Business Class” !!!!! We appear to have been upgraded, but it sounds too good to be true. I will confirm the details tomorrow.


This is the first time that I / we have ever been delayed to this extent and we have never been upgraded. So I’m looking forward to the experience :0)
