Tuesday 29 May 2012: what a pair
Sorting through the dark depths of my bag today and came up with this program from a 'silly songs' concert a couple of weekends ago.
One of the 'Avocado Pair' is a geo I've known for decades, though our families haven't seen each other for a while as kids have grown up and life has moved on.
Anyway, the invitation came through a mutual friend and a fine time had by all. I must admit to not being a great fan of the 'small, intimate, concert occasion' and the list of songs was daunting in number! However S and his fellow avocado did a splendid job, and how they managed to get the tongue twisters and strings of words out was very impressive.
Last time I saw S he was a red head with matching beard...a 'ranger' in aus parlance...and now greying, but still as feisty and looking just the ticket with his op shop tux boasting watered silk lapels wide enough to land a jumbo jet on. Delightful too was that all four of his offspring plus partners had rocked up for the event and were not cringing embarrassed in the corner but hugely enthusiastic and supportive
And what a fab voice...he sings with the WA Choral Society which is no mean feat.
