Friday 24 October 2008: The nitty gritty
Lindy decided that it was time for new covers for the dining room chairs ...
So, off we went in search of suitable material, which she found at the local Ikea.
We decided to replace the old type springs with a square of fresh foam rubber which will rest on a solid wooden base. This will then be covered with the cream and black material.
Preparing and cleaning the wooden bases of all previous nails, tacks and whatever stuck to it, took two days.
This is the nitty gritty - not always a pleasant prospect and job, but it has to be done!
Today, in no time, two seats were covered and it really looks swell.
I guess we could have finished the lot, but there were other jobs waiting.
