Easter Butterfly

We stood outside in the sunshine, watching as butterflies fluttered around the flowers on the willow tree: first a comma, then tortoiseshells and this slightly bedraggled peacock. Nuthatches, willow warblers* and sundry other small birds were all about enjoying the sudden increase in temperature.

Back indoors we shared a sumptuous lunch with the younger Flums and Flumlet, his other Grandies and the dog-in-law.

A very Happy Easter.

* Edit: On recent sighting we also heard their song and now believe they were Chiffchaffs.
