Espresso

This handy little gadget (on the right), that fits neatly in its case (on the left), was an invaluable companion during our recent two weeks on the road. It is a portable espresso maker, which requires only hot water and its little coffee pods. It was a Christmas gift from my daughter and son-in-law, and how fabulous it is. The pressure is created by pumping the handle like a bicycle pump. A tiny gauge shows you when the correct pressure has been reached. You pour boiling water into the cavity in the head, slip the pod into place and screw on the cap. Turn it over and release the valve, et voilà! Instant (real) espresso. Great in hotel rooms, and invaluable in our remote Hebridean cottage. Thank you, Carol and Chris!
