Arnside Tower

14th or 15th century pele tower to keep out those marauding Scots or just a bori9ng old hunting lodge, depending upon your source of information. Possibly rebuilt in 17th century after a fire, possibly not. Definitely unsafe and falling down. 

Spent afternoon with some friends of my husband who asked questions and listened to our answers rather than talking at us all the time. Refreshed by spending time with people who like to share a conversation rather than hog it.
