'Coconut Beach'
Backblip.
We were up super early this morning at 3:30am. Our flight from Melbourne to Cairns left at 6:15am and we arrived around 9:45am to quite a warm and steamy welcome. The temperature was sitting at around 30 degrees as we left the airport in our hire car.
Stopped along the road to Mossman for some lunch at a roadside / beachside bistro and then headed out to our accommodation in the middle of the Daintree Rainforest. Checked in, went for a walk on the properties nature walk and almost got lost forever. They forgot to tell us that the trail hadn't been cleared yet for the upcoming busy season, anyway we still had lots of laughs along the way.
After that we went for a drive heading up toward Cape Tribulation and stopped for a late afternoon walk along Coconut beach. There was hardly anyone around, we maybe saw 4 or 5 people while out walking and exploring the beach for the best part of a couple of hours. Bliss.
On the way back to our lodge we stopped for fish and chips for dinner at Thorntons Beach cafe. They had actually shut, but the owner said that he could still cook us up some dinner with was nice of him.
Back to the lodge for a reasonably early night after our super early start.
