Fritillaries

These came from my parents' North Lincolnshire garden to South Devon, and they're the only survivors after over ten years. I've combined two views, one from below, looking up inside one of their drooping heads, and showing the brilliant blue sky, and one showing the lovely checkered pattern of their petals.

We're just back from a lovely outing to Plymouth. Gorgeous driving through the high-banked, primrose-spattered green lanes in this glorious summery sunshine. It's really warm, too. Been wearing a summer dress and sandles that were new for our February holiday - so Britain's spring has now caught up with Madeira in winter! Yay!
