Skidz

Took an afternoon trip to High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire for a meeting at Skidz, the charity that helps channel disadvantaged young people into worthwhile technical jobs in the motor industry. I am one of the patrons, along with rally legend Paddy Hopkirk, Formula One engineering star Ross Brawn, and government minister Earl Howe. It was an interesting, productive meeting.

This evening was another one of beautiful light and a dramatic dusk. Because the meeting went on into the evening, I almost missed seeing it, but was heading homeward just in time to catch the warm glow.

Unfortunately I missed this evening's 'incredibly bright' - or so it was forecast - crossing of the International Space Station. There will be another chance to see it tomorrow night, but tonight's would have been the best one.

Looking forward to a lie-in tomorrow, and a domestic catch-up weekend.
