Thursday 31 May 2012: Not The Best Day For Poor Poppy!
The words of the song: " I had a little drink about an hour ago and it's gone right to my head" came to mind when I returned to The Mother's garden to do the follow-on from yesterday's bud blip and saw this poppy. The "little drink" of rain lasted several hours into the day.
I had feared the poppy would be completely ruined but an afternoon of sunshine had helped it to hang on and when I got to it at 9.30pm it tried to look cheerful!
Other cheerful orange flowers got framed tonight as a gift to The Mother for when I get her newly refurbished kitchen painted over the Bank Holiday weekend!
