Two Black Dogs

Today was the great moving day for all of grandma's geraniums that have been on winter holiday on our glassed-in balcony. I was at grandma's while mum did all the carrying and driving. It turned out that on grandma's balcony, where I haven't been much, really, there was already a black dog! Lurking in a corner, this dachshund that grandpa made during his woodwork lessons in the early 1940s has a permanent home. I opted for peaceful coexistence.

Grandma was happy to get her geraniums back, and I was happy to get a nice long walkie with mum. We met a lot of people today, many with sunglasses, various hats, caps and walking poles. One suspicious individual knelt right beside the trail, collecting nettles. One person with all these attributes wanted to stop and chat and say hello because she thought I was adorable. All this meant we had a lot of opportunities to practise, practise, practise. A couple of months ago, today would have been almost impossible.

Several dog owners have reported snake encounters in the sheep pens where we walk every day. We are super vigilant.
