Sensible

This is, I believe, a very sensible policy to have at an athletics track.

For one thing, Usain Bolt might just about be able to beat a horse over 100m, but the rest of us wouldn't stand a chance. As for the longer distances, forget it entirely.

And while we humans would definitely have an advantage at things like the shot put and discus, it clearly wouldn't be safe having horses wandering around while the javelin was taking place.

(On the other hand, I'd be interested to watch a humans vs horse high jump competition. That one might be a close thing...)

But overall, I'd like to commend Belfast City Council Parks Department for their safety-first approach here. Councils get a bad rap, what with all their 'Keep off the grass' by-laws, but I think we can all agree they've got this one spot-on. Sanity at last.
