Old Faithful

Alaskans can always count on rhubarb - it was invented for us:
Faithfully comes up first every year
Grows all summer with minimal care
Continually produces edible stalks that can be prepared in many      yummy ways
Isn't bothered by bugs
Can easily be divided every few years to make new plants
The roots can be used for dyeing wool
If you don't want to use it for any of these purposes, it is a beautiful ornamental plant that will be there for you until freeze-up.
Oh, and moose USUALLY don't eat it!
