The long road home

Truffle accompanied Casey and me on our evening stroll, expending rather more energy than we did as she darted up trees and scampered through hedges.

This image reminded me of that heart-stopping, tear-jerking Disney film from 1963 called The Incredible Journey, adapted from a (fictional) story by Sheila Burnford about two dogs and a cats who make their way across many miles of Canadian wilderness  to find their human family, encountering all sorts of adventures and hazards in the process. Here's a trailer for it.  
There was another version made in 1993 in which, disastrously in  my view,  the animals have American movie actors' voices like this.
